When developing WinRunner scripts for a complex application, it is to your benefit to make extensive use of functions.

This tool is designed to help locate and organize a collection of function libraries and quickly access the information about each function. From this tool, you can view each function in the library. This includes all types of function declarations: static, public, and extern. Selecting a function will display the name, scope, parameter details, and relevant TSL code (for user-defined functions).

High Rated Download

Function Browser was one of the highest rated WinRunner® downloads from the old Mercury Support Site before the HP transition!

A rating of 5.0 (5 being the highest!) was assigned by 24 users of the product! The only other WinRunner® download to receive more votes than Function Browser was our other tool, GUI Map Editor!

Key Features
Easy to Use and Highly Customizable Interface
The application makes extensive use of docking panes to store various components. These panes can be hidden, floating, closed, or docked. You may also drag-and-drop the panes to different locations in the application. The end result is a user interface that can be customized to suit the needs of the individual user.

Menus and Toolbars provide a professional look-and-feel and can be customized to provide quick access to the commands you use most often.

The user can choose the visual theme that is used to draw various aspects of the application (menus, toolbars, docking panes, property grids). Themes include styles similar to Office 2003, Office XP, and others.

Quickly Find and View Details for a Function
The Function Browser allows you to scan for all WinRunner scripts that have function declarations, and save that list for future sessions. Libraries are listed by Name and Path, and the list can be sorted for either value. Select any library and the function declarations for that library will be displayed. The list will include both the Name and Scope of the function, and can also be sorted. Select the desired function to view all the details about that function. The 'Declarations' tab will display the function name, type, and a detailed list of parameter information. The 'Code' tab will display the relevant TSL code (colorized) for the selected function (not available for 'extern' function declarations since the code is stored in a DLL).

Automatically Search for Functions
If you are not certain where a particular function is declared, you can search the available library list for one containing the desired function. You have the option of searching within the selected library, within all libraries stored in the same path as the selected library, or in all available libraries. If the function is found, it will be selected and the details will be displayed.

Support for TestDirector®
The Function Browser seemlessly integrates with your TestDirector® projects to work with compiled modules that are stored in TestDirector®. Once the connection information is provided, Function Browser will automatically download the files to view available functions. (Note: Requires TestDirector® 8.0 or higher)
