Automating Web 2.0 using HP QuickTest Professional 9.5 Web Extensibility
One of the exiting new features planned for the Test Design Studio 1.6 is special support for generating Web Extensibility addins for QuickTest Professional 9.5. This great new feature of QuickTest is limited by its complex implementation. Test Design Studio bridges that gap by providing designer support for test objects and automatic generation of the necessary toolkit files. Will Roden is delivering a presentation about Web Extensibility at HP Universe. Attend his track session to learn about this great new feature of QuickTest and see a demonstration of Test Design Studio simplifies the implementation process. Details about the session are as follows: Automating Web 2.0 using HP QuickTest Professional 9.5 Web Extensibility Whether you have a mature test framework or are in the middle of building your test strategy, you need to know what HP QuickTest Professional Web Extensibility add-ins can do—the sky is the limit. Learn what areas of your application are best tested with these add-ins as opposed to QuickTest Professional built-in features. We’ll present detailed examples that will help you get started.

Spherion: Secrets of successful software test automation, and how ROI drives the change
Test Design Studio has many great features that make it a key component to any automation toolbox. Paul will highlight how the Find and Replace in Files feature can help you easily update multiple files as well as illustrate the power of the built-in documenter. Spherion: Secrets of successful software test automation, and how ROI drives the change What are the five most common risks encountered by new users in test automation? What common pitfalls do automation projects present? How can you leverage metrics with ROI estimation to justify project expenditures? What innovative approaches to code design can you use to enhance development and error handling? This case study will answer these questions and more. We’ll cover topics such as stakeholder buy-in, code maintenance, and the degree of automation that is possible and practical. As we discuss the risks, we’ll also explore the consequences and offer approaches to mediate them from Spherion's unique Software Quality Management methodology. And we’ll deal with issues like coworkers who are afraid they’ll lose their jobs, developers who doubt tool capabilities and managers with negative experiences on past projects. You’ll go away with a simple two-step formula for quantifying ROI, best practices and lessons learned from many projects, and unique approaches to using tools.
